Rotary Australia World Community Service working in conjunction with Bougainville Rotary Community Corps, gathered 314 essential items for shipment to Bougainville for the benefit of local people.
It was a pleasure for us to partner with Rotary to cover all freight and shipping costs associated with getting the container from Australia to Bougainville.
The items shipped included computers, student desks, school and sports uniforms plus 100 schoolbooks. The shipments also contained medical equipment, including wheelchairs, walking sticks and frames, crutches, hospital linen and other medical supplies. Sewing machines and fabric, a washing machine and bed covers were also onboard.
