BCL was pleased to support Panguna Development Company Ltd (PDCL) in the running of a three-day training program in pig husbandry for local landowners in and around Panguna district, earlier this month.
Thirty-four people took part in the sessions run by expert facilitator Raphael Evinu, including 10 women. Most of the participants look after pigs on their properties for consumption and sale and the training taught them best practice in relation to the operation of small-scale piggeries. Initiatives such as this help build capacity by promoting greater levels of self-sufficiency and opportunities for economic development. The PDCL is a landowner company that supports its member in achieving these aims.
