EXPLORATION LICENCE (EL01) – FURTHER UPDATE

Bougainville Copper Limited (ASX: BOC) (Company) provides a further update following the Company’s receipt of a letter from the Autonomous Bougainville Government’s Registrar of Tenements (Department of Mining and Petroleum) dated 16 June 2026.

The correspondence confirmed that, following the enactment of the Bougainville Mining (Amendment) Act 2026, the Bougainville Executive Council approved the grant of Large-Scale Mining Lease No. 01 (LSML-01) to Bougainville Minerals Limited for a 25-year term, over the same land as covered by the Company’s Exploration Licence No.1 (EL01). Consequently, the Company was also advised that its rights under EL01 are now suspended and subordinated to LSML-01 for as long as the LSML remains in force.

Following preliminary consideration of the response from the Department of Mining and Petroleum and the implications of the amending legislation, the Company intends to establish a committee of directors to consider how best to proceed. The committee will be comprised of directors who are independent of the specific matters under consideration and tasked to consider legal and strategic issues arising from the suspension and subordination of EL01 and possible next steps.
