The 2022 season of the Arawa Darts League culminated in the recent presentation night at Hangers Tavern. It was a pleasure for BCL to sponsor the competition, including trophies and prizemoney. Six teams competed and this year’s premiership winning team was Renbou which won the top trophy and K1500.

Team Torau came in second, winning a trophy and K1000. Third place went to Mixmates winning a trophy and K750. Gold Dust came in fourth winning a trophy and K500 and a new dart board. Hangers and Exit 10 each received new dart boards and K200 for their contributions to a hard-fought season. The three youngest players in Joseph Taruna Jr, from title winning Renbou; Francisca Pokana, from Hangers and Robert Mesico of Torau were also acknowledged with trophies.

The highest checkout women’s player was Elizabeth Mundri who was awarded for this as well as for her two highest scores. The highest finish award went to Philip Solo while the highest checkout men’s player was Jerry Koratsi. The most improved player awards went to Haddica Dougie from Hangers and Joesph Taruna Jr.

Members of BCL’s local team Genevieve Itta, Peter Garuai and Alphonse Tapit presented awards and the league thanked BCL for its support of grassroots community sport.
