The founder and principal of the Arawa School of Nursing, Mrs Celyn Tusalah captured the essence and importance of nursing at the school’s 2023 graduation ceremony on 5 December by describing it as a noble and reputable profession that involves healing the mind, body, and soul of patients.
Twenty three students graduated this year with Diplomas in Nursing and all will have opportunities to pursue rewarding careers within the health system.
Members of the local BCL team had the pleasure of attending, with the company sponsoring a student leadership prize.
They also caught up with National Higher Education Minister Don Poyle and South Bougainville MP and Minister for Information and Communication Technology, Timothy Masiu. Most importantly, this was a day for the graduates, who did themselves and their families proud! From next year the school will be known as the Bougainville College of Nursing.
