Meet Chief Peter Garuai. Peter is the Chief of Pokpok island and attended 2 primary schools – Tupiana Primary School and Kieta Primary School. From there he went to Arawa High School and Arawa Technical College and studied trade skills majoring in plumbing. In his spare time, Peter enjoys trekking, diving and fishing. The biggest fish he has ever caught was a yellow fin tuna, almost as long as he was (6 ft!)
Peter used to also play in 2 bands in Arawa, and is a singer songwriter who wrote The Referendum Song.
