Meet Augustine Perina from Kokore Village. He is working with Bougainville Copper as a Village Liaison Officer and lived in Panguna during the crisis. He wears multiple hats, a father, mechanic, school board of management member and village leader.
His proudest achievement is becoming a Village Liaison Officer, working with Bougainville Copper to help improve and work with the local communties.
Augustine is a passionate sportsman and used to play soccer for the Panguna Brothers as a midfielder. He has played in 4 grand finals, winning 3 gold medals and 1 bronze medal. Watching rugby leage is another passion of his, where he supports the Brisbane Broncos.
